Just Say No....

Yes, I know it is easier said than done, but there comes a time in our lives when we need to stop being a welcome mat, that people can just wipe thier feet all over you, use and abuse you, and then kick you to the curb when they are through with you with not even a backwards glance.

There are really some people out there that are not worthy of the welcome. They sit there and feel that they are entitled to the hospitality that you have to offer. They feel that you don't even derserve a "thank you" because it is thier God given right to take from you what they feel is thiers. But there comes a time when you have to say enough is enough. I deserve more respect than that. YOU are the one that needs ME. I have given to you all that I can, and because of the lack of consideration and gratitude, the buck stops here. You need...search elsewhere. You don't have anywhere to go....sorry, I have done more than enough.

Sometimes dealing with individuals like this are a setback in our life. We can not accomplish or fulfill our wants and dreams because we are haunted by what is inevitable. We must realize that sometimes as much as we think that we are assisting the person, we may hindering them. We are enabling them to this very sort of behavior. So as a way of tough love we have to start saying no. Sometimes this is the only way for us to obtain the respect we deserve. It may not come right away. Heck, the first time we do say no, the person will probably give us hell. But it must be done. For OUR well being.....

We also can not change our life for the "taker". Do they rearrange thier life for you? Absolutely not. Although they do expect for us to be on thier beck and call. Continue your life as you see fit. And when a request is made say No, and mean it. It will hurt when we see the wrath that will surely come from finally saying No to them, but eventually they will learn to stand on thier own two feet and fend for themselves.
