First day of Autumn! My favorite season.
We spent the weekend bidding farewell to summer. The weather was gorgeous, we couldn't have asked for anything better.
Saturday we spent our anniversary day at The Festival of the Sea. It is a seafood festival by the boardwalk. It has become a family tradition for us. Our mouths watered as we got the wiff of wonderful aromas of seafood cooking as we approached the closed off street the restaurant booths were set up at.We always start off with Sweet Potato Crab Cakes. Chris isn't much of a seafood eater, so he always gets chicken fingers and french fries. But Leilani is adventurous. She will try everything at least once. And Sweet Potato Crab Cakes is a tried and true favorite of hers. We followed that with stuffed shrimp and finished it off with a couple of lobsters we took home for dinner.
Sunday Mike was still in a celebratory mood and decided to take us all out to lunch after church. We were going to try Ruby Tuesdays, but the kids wanted to go to Applebee's. We also went to Barnes and Nobles where I picked up a chicken recipe magazine. One of which recipes we had for dinner tonight. Southwest Fried Chicken. It was incredibly yummy...and the best thing....it isn't really fried! Baked chicken that mimics fried, sounds great to me!
Hope everyone enjoys this first day of Fall!
