Cookie Time!

It's that time of year where Girl Scouts throughout our township get to walk around with thier wagons filled with mouth watering Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Dosidos and an array of other cookies and deliver the sweet delicacies to all the men and women who ordered them for a tasty treat! Pam and I as cookie chairs, went to the warehouse and filled the van to the brim with the 1600 boxes that pertained to our troop. Starting at 5pm there was a steady procession of vehicles stopping at our driveway picking up the cookies to be delivered. The last of the girls orders was picked up early this afternoon, and Leilani and I started our deliveries and managed to get half of the orders out of our garage! WOOHOO!

Poor Mike! He had to spend 10 hours in O"Hare International Airport waiting for a flight to get back home from his annual meeting. Imagine his dismay when his flight was delayed time after time from its orginal hour of departure of 2pm to 4pm, then 6pm, then 9pm, then 11pm and with a possibility that it may not depart at all! His boss told him to see if another airline had a gaurenteed flight going out before 11pm. He managed to find one through American Airlines departing at 10pm. It actually left at 10:40pm and after spending the better part of the day in the airport in uncomfy shoes....he arrived home at 3am. We are all exhausted but glad that he is home safe and sound.

Of course the kiddies having not seen him for the past 72 hours, couldn't wait to wake him up this morning. Needless to say we only managed to get 5 hours of sleep. You bet we will be heading to bed bright and early tonight. Mike and I were able to go out to our sushi place for lunch. It was great catching up on the activities of the past 3 days without the interruptions.

Tomorrow is a jam packed day. I have to get Leilani 2 candy bars for Candy Bingo, and spend the afternoon with 13 of my girl scouts. Mike has to go to the 1st Communion Meeting, and Christopher has a birthday party at Twisters. Hopefully it will all turn out great!
