Unbelievable! OK, I figured that after 6 months of scouting that "Donna" didn't know most of the girls names. She is in her own little world. Today at the meeting we played a little game with the girls called "Know Your Brownie". We wanted to see how many she really did know. Turns out, out of 15, she only knew 4. One which happens to be her next door neighbor, 3 of which were in her class last year (1 is still in her class). Aside from those four girls, she knew NO ONE. Now we thought, lets give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe none of the other 4 new girls know all the other girls. So we asked A, K, G, and S to play in the game.....they were on point. They knew each and every one of them. Even my 2 girls who do not attend the school and literally only see the other 14 girls twice a month at meetings, knew each and every girl.
But that isn't even the best part. During the meeting the girls were writing postcards to soldiers in Iraq. Ms. Pam asked how do you spell the word Iraq, to make sure she was spelling it correctly. Donna decided she wanted to spell the same word. She raised her hand and said
Donna- Teacher! Can you spell that word again for me?
Me- Which word would you like me to spell Donna?
Donna- The word you said for her.
Me- I gave the spelling for 2 words, which word was it?
Donna- The one you spelled for the lady with the blue shirt.
me- (Looking totally shocked) You mean Ms. Pam?
Donna- Yeah, the lady in the blue shirt.
Me- Her name is Ms. Pam.
I so wanted to scream! You mean to tell me that in 6 months you still don't know my name and call me teacher, and you don't even know your coleaders names??? Lady in the blue shirt.....I am still shocked!
These post should really be named MisAdventures with Donna.
