Brenda and I have been best friends for 16 years. We have been there for each other through the ackwardness of High School, the euphoria and heartbreak of first crushes, and have spent many delightful hours acting silly, having fun and just being there for one another during the good, the bad, and the ugly. And although both of us are now married and have lives of our own, we always schedule time for just us. That is why I was so looking forward to this weekend where Bren and her hubby, Jorge, would be spending the weekend with us.
Bren and Jorge arrived around 1:45pm, and we all snacked on some Munchkins that they brought over and joked and talked about anything and everything. At about 4pm, Bren and I went for a couple of hours of Girls Only time and went to a pottery place to paint pottery. We always enjoy painting, which to us is very therpeutic, and just talking about girly stuff that has gone on in each others life. It is really wonderful to know that no matter how long we don't see each other for, we never have the ackwardness of not having a thing to say. Can we talk! And Jorge fits in just fine, because he also possesses the gift of gab! LOL
The rest of the evening flew by, with us returning for the hubby's and the kids and going out to dinner at Applebee's. Then returning home, putting Leilani and Chris to bed and then settling down to watch the DVD movie "Click". We had the best laughs! Before we knew it, it was almost 1am and we all decided to call it a night since the kids will be getting up bright and early.
Time spent in good company always sadly breezes by. Before we knew it we had finished a pancake breakfast, chatted about the world around us and it was noontime. Bren and Jorge needed to head back to the city to do thier weekend chores. We said our goodbyes and promised to go visit them to spend some more quality time together.
