Happy Easter!

It is amazing that it seems like it was just yesterday we were celebrating the birth of Christ, and today we are rejoicing his resserection.

I can truly say we had an amazing weekend.

Easter Crafts & Dyeing Eggs
Friday I spent a relaxing day with Christopher and Leilani. After all, it was day one of thier Spring Break. We woke up at our leisure and slowly made our way downstairs to eat breakfast. We bummed around for a bit and then we got showered and dressed. Of course being the scrapbook planner that I am, they couldn't just take pics dyeing eggs in thier PJ's now can they? Christopher ended up breaking one of his eggs and had a meltdown. Nothing a threat that he can not ride on the rides at the boardwalk couldn't fix in a jiffy! I did notice one thing. The dyes at the dollar store don't work nearly as well as the ones you can purchase at Walmart.

After lunch, we went over to the boardwalk to purchase our 2 for 1 ticket books for the amusement park. This has become a yearly tradition for us. We buy a few books and use them all through the summer. This year we ended up buying a couple of extra booklets to use while Malik is here. The rides were open, but it was bitter cold out! I ended up allowing them to get on 3 rides, and coaxed them oout of the amusement park with a bag full of zeppoles. This was thier first time trying them. Although they enjoyed them, they still think that funnel cakes are the best.

SUSHI, SUSHI
Mike picked up Grandma Auri on Friday, so this meant that he and I were able to have a day out just the two of us. Saturday started off with a quick trip to the Osh Kosh outlets with Grandma Auri. She felt that the basket that she made for Christopher wasn't full enough like Leilani's (she bought her tons of American Girl items) and she wanted to get him a couple of more things. She got him an adorable outfit, and ended up seeing another outfit for Leilani too! She's too funny!

Once we returned, Mike and I went to our favorite Japanese restaurant for some Sushi. YUMMY!!! It was delicious as always. We always have a great time chatting and eating here. And the owners know us and always strike up conversation. Afterwards we ended up running some errands and returned home to prepare for church. Normally service on Saturday evening is at 5pm. We arrived at church and it turned out the mass was changed to 4pm! We were crushed! We were all dressed up with no where to go. Bummer!

Visit From the Easter Bunny
We all called it a night early Saturday. Grandma Auri wanted to treat us to a Dunkin Donuts breakfast. So we woke up bright and early, got dressed and went downstairs to the baskets surprises Leilani and Chris had waiting for them. We went outside to see if the Easter Bunny left eggs for them, and he did! Unfortunately it was 28 degrees out! Needless to say the collection was done in 3 minutes flat! Chris at one point started crying that it was way too cold outside. I helped collect his remaining eggs and ran back inside.

They had a blast opening up thier Easter Baskets and were very excited with all thier goodies. Thier baskets from us had an outfit for each with a new pair of sandals, a couple of chocolates and a toy for each. Leilani had a mega pack of Littlest Pet Shops, with her coveted ladybug in it. Christopher loved his TMNT figure. They both LOVED thier bunny yoyos.

Japanese....Day 2

Breakfast at DD went great. And we went to the movies and saw Meet the Robinsons. We returned home and relaxed. To our surprise, Grandma Auri had us get dressed again to go out to our favorite Japanese restaurant again, but this time for Hibashi! Leilani couldn't contain her excitement! It was a wonderful way to finish the day and the weekend.
